Message from Admin Team
Dear NHE community,
Happy last full week of school! Can you believe it? There are only five full days left in the school year, and as we prepare to wrap up the year, we have a jam-packed schedule of exciting events ahead. From an exciting field trip to our school field day to an evening concert and school graduations, there's so much to celebrate and cherish together. Let's make this week one to remember as we bid farewell to another incredible school year!
Speaking of end-of-year, please remember the last day of school is June 18th, and that it will be an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 10:00 a.m. on this day, so if you have any questions, we encourage you to reach out to your child's teacher or the front office. Also, please don't forget to report an absence should your child be out on June 18th.
Thank you again for the strong partnership, and we hope you have a great evening!

Teaching & Learning
We know that students make meaning and grow in their understanding when they interact with content in ways that are personal and meaningful. In one 3rd grade classroom students created dioramas to help represent a scene from the book, Dash, that they read about World War II. They selected a scene from the book that was especially significant and then they worked together or by themselves to showcase that scene in a box using clay, popsicle sticks, and other craft materials. Dr. Macias, Mrs. Hook, and I were invited to the classroom to hear students speak with enthusiasm and detail about the scene they represented and why it was important. They were confident speakers, answered questions, and provided details from the book to support their reasoning and thoughts. It was great to see the joy this project inspired and the depth of understanding.
Reminder!
Lost & Found - Please remind your student(s) to check the lost and found for any items that have not made it home. The last day of school is approaching very quickly and anything that is left after dismissal June 18th will be donated. Parents/Guardians are welcome to come check out the Lost & Found once you check-in at Lobby Guard in the main office. Thank you!
Nurse's Corner
To my beloved NHES staff, I have been reassigned to Bellevue High school for the fall of 24-25 school year. Although this is very sad, I am happy to announce that you will have two nurses next year! Many of you know Trish Ignacio, as she was a parent here at NHES and will be serving as your primary nurse next year. She will be supported by Janelle Phillips, who worked at our school last year during her intern positions with WSU.
They are both highly qualified pediatric nurses and will be an asset to NHES next year. Hoping that our paths will meet again one day :)

City of Bellevue School Pool
The City of Bellevue is seeking travel data on how students travel to and from school. Please help by completing this short, five-question survey for each school-aged child. The survey has been extended through Friday, June 21. This annual survey helps the city’s Bellevue SchoolPool program evaluate strategies for alleviating drop-off and pickup congestion at schools.
